Asbestos ‘Disaster’ At King Phillip Mills?

Donna Motta February 12, 2020 2

Here’s a  facebook post by Fall River City Councilor Pam Laliberte-Lebeau, wherein she talks about her concerns that relate to an apparent asbestos problem at the King Phillip Mills development project in the city’s southend.

‘The Attorney Generals office has executed a search warrant at the site of the King Philip Mill this morning (Tuesday, February 11th, 2020).

This site has been under investigation for the last several months by the Environmental Crimes Strike Force, which is an inter-agency environmental law enforcement unit comprised of prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, DEP scientific and technical staff, and uniformed police officers from environmental agencies. The investigation by a “Crimes Strike Force” is what prompted Councilor Michelle Dionne and I to begin making calls to State Departments to gather information on what is happening at this site.

While the DEP recently gave a presentation on the mill site, in my conversations with them, they were not able to speak on the AG’s part in the investigation. However, in light of the specific agencies publically (publicly) listed as being involved in the Crimes Task Force, this does not come as a surprise. Looking forward to getting to the bottom of this!’

Why did I read this I’m such a sucker. It’s all speculation that they are investigating whether or not they are burring asbestos. Just get it done
