The Fall River City Council tonight will receive the city’s water and sewer budgets for FY 2027. The spending plan is not seeking any increases in water or sewer rates.
The residential water rate will remain at $4.24 per one hundred cubic feet (CCF). The sewer usage rate will stay at $8.11 per CCF.
Mr. Ferland says he builds budgets based on spending trends. He says that, in planning for FY 2027, he realized savings while revenues increased.
Mr. Ferland says the department will continue to seek funding through state and federal grants for construction projects and will work with neighboring communities to determine whether Fall River can sell water or grant access to its wastewater treatment plant. The city council will meet on the budget in the coming weeks.
