The victim of yesterday’s shooting on Rock Street was a student at the Robert L. Medeiros Resiliency Preparatory School. This is resulting in an increase in security at city schools.

18-year-old Colus Jamal Mills-Good was killed during the shooting that took place yesterday just before noon in the area of Rock and Franklin Streets. The investigation into the shooting continues by Fall River Police and State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

From the Fall River School Department

Fall River, MA. (March 14, 2024) – Yesterday afternoon, March 14, 2024, Fall River Public Schools Superintendent, Maria Pontes, was notified by the Fall River Police Department that an 18-year-old at the RLM Resiliency Preparatory Academy was the victim of a shooting that had just occurred. This is an active investigation and we are working with the Fall River Police Department.

We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life. Our thoughts and prayers are with our student’s family, friends and loved ones. We ask that you respect their privacy during this very difficult time.

Out of an abundance of caution, we will have an increased police presence in our schools. We will also have counselors available to support the RLM Resiliency Preparatory Academy community.
The safety of our students and staff continues to be our highest priority. It is imperative that we all remain vigilant in our collective efforts to uphold that safety for all.
