Late last year, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), under the leadership of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy, Jr., changed its recommendations for the administration of vaccines for diseases common or severe in children from 17 to 11. Massachusetts is still requiring children receive vaccines for all 17 diseases.

Tess Curran, Director of Health and Human Services for the City of Fall River, says the CDC’s recommendation is not based on any credible evidence.

Ms. Curran says, when it comes to pediatric health, parents should ensure their information comes from credible sources.
