The new Consul of Portugal in New Bedford has been on the job for about a month and is quickly becoming familiar with the SouthCoast and its expansive Portuguese community.
Dr. Tiago Cabrita de Sousa toured Bristol Community College this week to learn of the growing number of students of Portuguese heritage who study at the college yearly.
The consulate in New Bedford is Dr. de Sousa’s first American outpost, and he looks forward to immersing himself in learning more about the local Portuguese community and providing them with services in regard to their Portuguese citizenship.
