Here are the events at Fall River Heritage State Park for the February school vacation week.

SCHOOL VACATION WEEK, FEB. 17-25

FEB. 17-25, 9:00AM-3:30PM

SCAVENGER HUNTS: BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENT Visitor Center Lobby. Fall River is rich with history. These scavenger hunts put you on the path to discovering the people and stories that are the fabric of our community. Three scavenger hunts are available:

  • Do You Know Your Fall River Black History?
  • Find that African Flag,
  • Textiles, Textiles Everywhere Free.

All materials are provided.

FEB. 18 & 24, 12:00PM-3:00PM

GET CREATIVE WITH THE GREATER FALL RIVER ART ASSOCIATION, Visitor Center. Craft a mask based on the people and traditions of Fall River.

  • Feb. 18: African Culture masks
  • Feb. 24: Native American-inspired masks with the Pocasset Wampanoags.

Suitable for all ages. Free. All materials are provided.

FEB. 19 & 21, 12:00PM-3:00PM

COLONIAL MEDICINE WITH “DR.” DAVE, Visitor Center. Learn about early American medical and dental practices with Dave Jennings from the Lafayette-Durfee House. See the tools and devices used. It may look and sound like a horror movie, but this was medicine! Fun for the whole family.

NATIVE AMERICAN STORYTELLING AND CRAFTS WITH THE POCASSET WAMPANOAG TRIBE OF MASSACHUSETTS AND RHODE ISLAND, Visitor Center

Learn about your neighbors — the first people of Fall River — and make your own dreamcatcher. Also make your own Native American inspired masks with the Pocasset Wampanoags. Suitable for all ages. Free. All materials are provided
