The Fall River Fire Department yesterday held a promotional ceremony celebrating the installation of seven new officers and Chief Jeffrey Bacon.
Promoted to new roles were:
- Deputy Fire Chief Neil Furtado
- District Fire Chief JP Ricard
- District Fire Chief David Jennings, Jr.
- Fire Captain Timothy DaLuz
- Fire Captain Jonathan Medeiros
- Fire Lieutenant Bruce Alves
- Fire Lieutenant Alexander Arruda
Fire Chief Bacon was also officially installed but has been on the job for several weeks. During remarks at the ceremony, the chief praised those promoted and the rank-and-file firefighters as being one of the best departments in the Commonwealth. The chief looks to define the department through its ability to learn, grow and serve.
