Political Newcomer Erica Scott-Pacheco came in third place during yesterday’s Mayoral Preliminary Election in Fall River. Scott-Pacheco won 2,171 votes just behind Incumbent Mayor Jasiel Correia – who came in second place with 2,777. While Scott-Pacheco will not be listed on the ballot in the November 5th Final Election, she said during her speech to supporters last night, that she does believe – judging by the amount of votes she pulled in – that the federally indicted incumbent mayor will not win re-election:
Mayoral candidate and School Committeeman Paul Coogan won the most votes for a total of 8,273. The result of yesterday’s tally means Coogan and Correia will battle it out in the final election for the city’s top post in November.
