Representative Alan Silvia along with Cymry’s Christmas Wish, a non-profit organization, are sponsoring a funPop, Pizza, & Painting event for the Differently Able next week.
When: Friday, October 9th
Time:10:00 am to 1:00 pm
Place: The Liberal Club.
Pizza and soft drinks are being donate by the Liberal Club for all the attendees.
Representative Silvia through providing this event aims to empower and enrich young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities enabling them to grow as individuals, live with dignity and have choices in how they fulfill their lives.
“Very often people with developmental disabilities are better able to express themselves in images than in words. Art breaks down many of the emotional and psychological barriers that hold students back by building self-confidence and personal satisfaction. Join us in spreading the message of inclusion for all. We like to think that people with significant challenges can enjoy and pursue personal well-being and independence,” Representative Silvia says.
A hundred consumers from local organizations which include, People Inc., Community Connections, Crystal Springs, and Fall River Schools Special Needs Department at Durfee High School will be participating this year.
