The Fall River School Committee Unanimously voted this week to approve the construction of a new B.M.C. Durfee High School. Via a phone interview today, FRC Media News spoke with School Department Chief Operating Officer Ken Pacheco. He said the School Committee is required by state law to vote on the construction project, but is not responsible to fund the $260 million dollar proposed plan. Pacheco says the financial responsibility falls upon Mayor Jasiel Correia after he discusses the construction plan with the City Council.
