It was a historic day yesterday in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as Maura Healey was inaugurated as governor. She is the first woman and LGBTQ individual to serve in that role. She joins Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll as the first women Governor and Lt. Governor in state history.
During her inaugural address, the governor proclaimed that Massachusetts is rebounding from the pandemic and is poised for further greatness.
Governor Healey said even though unemployment is low, people across the state are still suffering through the rise in inflation and the high cost of housing.
The governor proclaimed Massachusetts a leader in innovation; speaking directly to businesses and pledging to help those who are in need of filling high-skilled jobs.
The governor also looks to continue to expand opportunities within our public schools and make Massachusetts a leader in combatting climate change.
