Health screenings will be available for Fall River Area residents interested in pursuing more healthy life styles this summer…and beyond.
The focus of the Southcoast Wellness Van is to target people who may not have access to regular medical care, although the screening opportunities are also open to the general public.
Thanks to the Southcoast Community Benefits Program, the Southcoast Wellness Van will be parked at the Maple Garden apartment complex August 5th. Between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. area residents will have the opportunity to meet with licensed registered nurses, and certified assistants for a medical checkup that includes:
- Blood and Cholesterol Screenings
- Education on Stroke Prevention
- Teen resource information
- Confidential Pregnancy Tests
- Family Planning & Physician referrals
Throughout the year, the van also works in partnership with the Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care and the Southcoast Physicians Group to offer free cancer screenings and education. For more information you can call (508) 973-8740 or visit the link below.
