State and local leaders yesterday joined representatives from National Grid and Liberty Utilities to promote participation in the state’s Mass Save program to make changes in homes and businesses with the goal of saving money on electricity and heat.
The event was held at Medeiros Auto Body on Alden Street which took advantage of the program to save 18% on natural gas costs and projected net lifetime electric savings of 29-megawatt hours. Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources Commissioner Patrick Woodcock says many of the efficiency programs are free to eligible homeowners and small businesses.
Both National Grid and Liberty Utilities, Fall River’s dominant energy providers, are partners in the Mass Save program.
Since 2015 the State of Massachusetts has invested over $5 Billion in the Mass Save program with another $4 Billion pledged through 2024.
