With the announcement Sunday that Fall River mayoral candidate Christopher Silvia was suspending his campaign, what happens to the ballots of those who voted for him?
Election Commission Chair Ryon Lyons says those votes will be counted as any other. What happens next may be up to Mr. Silvia.
With the preliminary election two weeks away, residents who have not registered to vote or would like to request an absentee or mail ballot must do so soon.
The elections office has sent out approximately 4,800 absentee and mail ballots, which are due by the close of the polls on Tuesday, September 16, at 8:00 p.m.
