It looks like Fall River School Superintendent Meg Mayo-Brown will be leaving the city to work as the superintendent in Barnstable. As of today, anyway.
The only item on tonight’s school committee agenda in Barnstable is contract negotiations for Mayo-Brown who was offered the position to oversee the Cape Cod school system recently. The vote: 3 to 2.
Fall River School Committee members have been trying in executive session in recent weeks to bang out a new contract for Mayo-Brown to stay on board…to no avail. Her current contract ends on June 30th 2016.
According to school Committee Member Gabriel Andrade, who spoke with Frcconnect.org December 15th, there hasn’t been total support among the committee for Mayo-Brown.
Stay tuned for more information following the results of Barnstable’s School Committee meeting this evening.
