Fall River’s 2019 Day of Portugal will feature the city’s first whale boat regatta, to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 9 at Battleship Cove.
The popular annual Day of Portugal festival will take place from June 6 to June 9 on the Ponta Delgada Boulevard and will include a food tasting fundraiser, children’s activities, and concerts by performers including The Great Escape, Nelz, Santamaria, and Waterloo, an ABBA tribute band.
Following the regatta, researcher Dr. Pedro Bicudo will present a lecture on the whaling industry in Fall River.
