Re:  Walking Groups on the Quequechan River Rail Trail -Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the summer.

Summer is a wonderful time to visit, walk and enjoy the Alfred J. Lima Quequechan River Rail Trail.  Walking with a group gives you a sense of security as you get to know a new pathway or trail.  WALK-FALL RIVER offers a walking group every Tuesday at Noon and Saturday at 9 AM throughout the summer. Walk as far as you like, as fast or slow as you like.  You set the time and the pace.  These groups are led by walkers from Mass in Motion-Fall River and SSTAR’s 1422 program, Vanessa Vieira and Ben Paull.   Walking begins at Britland Park behind the Police Department.  Park in the Wordell  Street Parking lot off of Plymouth Avenue.

One thing is certain, after you have visited and walked the Trail once, you are bound to return.  The Rail Trail celebrates Fall River, as it follows the waterway that gave the City its name.  The Trail recreates the path of the old Rail Line that brought goods to the 10 + granite mill buildings that still line the shore.  Walking the Trail is like being in a Nature preserve, with feathered, web-footed  and furry creatures bringing excitement and pleasure to viewers of every age.

The Trail can be accessed at Martine Street (parking at the UMD CIE parking lot), at Quequechan Street, Rodman Street (Parking spaces are allocated at Stop & Shop) and at Britland Park (Parking at the Wordell  Street lot). The Trail is fully handicapped accessible.

If you have been curious, but have not yet visited the Quequechan River Rail Trail, join the Walking Group on any Tuesday at Noon or Saturday at 9 AM.
