Fall River is set for another local food showdown as residents can vote among ten entries for which has the best hot dog in the city.
Viva Fall River is hosting the Hot Dog Home Run, a month-long competition to crown Fall River’s best frankfurter.
The ten restaurants in the competition are:
- Al Mac’s Diner
- Bun Buds
- Chicken Story
- Faneek’s Coney Island
- Graham’s
- JJ’s Coney Island
- Newport Creamery
- Nick’s Hot Dogs
- Nick’s Jr.
- Roger’s Coney Island
Bun Buds just opened their restaurant on Purchase Street last week. Along with dumplings, they serve creative foot-long hot dogs.
Mr. Weiss began his hot dog journey as a Johnson & Whales University culinary student. He chose Fall River as his base of operation based on the attributes of his hometown.
The competition will be conducted in rounds, with restaurants being eliminated weekly. The field will be narrowed to the final four later this week with the final two entrants being decided the week of June 13. The winner will be announced on June 21. Residents can vote for their favorite hot dog through the Viva Fall River website.
The competition continues Viva Fall River’s goal to spread the word of Fall River’s culinary offerings to residents and tourists alike.
