The Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Wall committee, the Fall River Police Department and the Fall River Fire Department announce the upcoming Tip the Helmet event sponsored by the Fall River Police Department Patrolmen’s Union to benefit the construction of the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Wall at Bicentennial Park in Fall River, MA.
The Tip the Helmet Fundraising event led by Fall River Police Chief Al Dupere and Police Union President Michael McConnell will take place on Sunday, August 4th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the St. James Irish Pub located at 91 Purchase Street, Fall River, MA. The event includes food, drinks, and music. Donations are $50.00.

The first Tip the Helmet Fire Fighters event lead by Chief John Lynch and Fire Fighters Union President Jason Burns raised over $18,000.00. The total cost to purchase, construct and maintain the Wall is $1,400,000.
This permanent 80% scale of Washington DC’s Vietnam Memorial Wall with all 58,282 names will be built on Fall River’s waterfront. Proprietary rights, granted by the national organization, encompass all of Massachusetts as well as a 50-mile radius from Fall River. There are only three other permanent replicas throughout the country. Construction is planned to begin in the spring of 2020 and completed by Veteran’s Day 2020.
