The Watuppa Rowing Center will once again host youngsters as part of two summer programs.
For the third straight year, the rowing center is working in conjunction with the United Way of Greater Fall River on its United We Row program, which is free for kids 12 to 19 with three, two-week sessions beginning July 5th.
Each session can accommodate up to 20 children. There are still openings available. To find out more visit the Wautuppa Rowing Center’s website.
The rowing center is also working with the Fall River Public Schools to host up to 40 students as part of its summer enrichment program for middle schoolers. The program is called Stem to Stern and is a national model where kids learn to swim and row while incorporating math and science.
Cardillo says the elements of rowing should fit well based on the characteristics that make up the people of Fall River.
