With a little over two months left in its annual fundraising campaign, the United Way of Greater Fall River has already reached its goal for the year.
Executive Director Kim Smith expects the $1.2 million goal to be exceeded by approximately $80,000. She says the greater Fall River community continues to be extremely generous.
Ms. Smith says the money raised will be distributed across five spending categories.
Money is also set aside for disaster relief, combatting food insecurity and special initiatives.
