Governor Charlie Baker today announced the expansion of those who can receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Teachers will be invited to make appointments beginning next Thursday, March 11.
The Governor’s announcement follows a call by President Joe Biden for states to prioritize the vaccination of pre-K-12 teachers and staff and child care workers.
Governor Baker says news of increased vaccine production and distribution allows for this move to take place…albeit with caution for those eligible to be vaccinated to remain patient.
The board at the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is slated to meet this week to allow Commissioner Jeff Riley to push for elementary school students to return fully in-person by next month.
