Battleship Cove last week unveiled its new exhibit, a display of remnants of PT-59, a patrol torpedo boat commanded by former President John F. Kennedy during World War II.
During a ceremony unveiling the exhibit, Battleship Cove Chief Operating Officer Christopher Nardi said portions of the main hatchway were discovered by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York City as it was dredging the Harlem River last year and the remnants were donated to the museum.
On hand for the ceremony was former congressman and great-nephew of the former president Joseph Kennedy. He said there is no greater place for the remains of the boat than the Fall River World War II memorial.
