If you’ve got some extra non-perishable food items in your pantry, the U.S. Postal Service is looking to take them off your hands.

Tomorrow postal workers will be collecting food items as part of its annual Stamp out Hunger campaign. In Fall River the drive is being sponsored by the Greater Fall River United Way, GM Refrigeration, Bank Five and Blount Fine Foods.

Postal carrier and Stamp Out Hunger local organizer Paul Knarr says the nationwide drive is celebrating its 30th anniversary. He says the postal service connects residents with resources every day.

Knarr says typically local postal workers and volunteers collect over 2000 mail totes full of food. With little effort, they can collect more.

If you miss out on donating tomorrow, not to worry. Postal workers will continue to accept donations throughout the coming week.
