With the announcement yesterday that Massachusetts will continue to ease COVID-19 restrictions beginning next week, the local business community is celebrating taking the steps toward getting back to normal.
Beginning Monday, the state will return to Phase III, Step 2 of its re-opening plan. Restaurants will no longer have a percent capacity limit but a maximum of six people per table and 90-minute reservation. Indoor performance venues such as concert halls and theaters will be allowed to reopen and capacity limits across all sectors raised to 50%.
Phase IV, Step 1 of re-opening is slated to begin March 22 with large sports venues able to open at 12% capacity. Gathering limits for event venues and activities in public settings will increase to 100 people indoors and 150 people outdoors.
One SouthCoast Chamber co-CEO Rick Kidder says the easing of restrictions comes at an opportune time.
In related news, co-CEO Michael O’Sullivan says the chamber is welcoming over 50 new members who took advantage of the organization’s recent membership drive.
