Last week the House of Representatives in Boston passed its state budget plan.
State Representative Paul Schmid says the $47.7 billion spending package will provide Fall River much-needed support. Among the targets…local education through the Student Opportunity Act.
Representative Schmid says the House is taking a conservative approach on how it will spend the billions of dollars the state will receive from the recently passed American Rescue Plan.
The House budget passed unanimously by a vote of 160-0. Representative Schmid says this is a sign legislators are focused on the same goal.
The Senate is expected to debate its budget proposal later this month.
