The Fall River Police Department is working with Blessed Trinity Church to coordinate a Guns for Groceries program in an effort to get unwanted guns off the street.

Police Chief Jeffrey Cardoza says the program was funded through the generosity of local donations.

Father Robert Nemkovich, pastor at Blessed Trinity Church, says the gun collection program started over 20 years ago spearheaded by the late Reverend Robert Lawrence.

The Guns for Groceries program will take place Saturday, January 30 from 9am to 1pm at Blessed Trinity Church, 1340 Plymouth Avanue.
