It appears a large number of Fall River residents will take advantage of reserving a mail ballot for the primary and general elections this fall.
A week after mail ballot applications were sent to state voters, Fall River Election Commission Chairwoman Kelly Souza Young says her office has already received 7,000 requests for mail ballots; from a total of approximately 50,000 registered voters. She says that number far outpaces total voter counts for previous state elections.
With the large number of mail ballot applications expected to be received, Ms. Souza-Young says the processing of the applications and ballots is clearly defined.
The deadline to return mail ballot application to the Elections Office is August 26.
