As students in the Fall River public schools face the prospect of more remote learning as COVID-19 cases have surged, learning at Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School remains in its hybrid model of remote and in-person learning it launched last fall.
Assistant Superintendent and Principal Andrew Rebello says students take their academic classes remotely while returning to the campus for work in their vocational classes. And thus far the results, although not ideal, have proven to be positive.
When the pandemic hit last March Diman was proactive in the development of remote learning protocols. Mr. Rebello says the attention needed during remote learning has not come without challenges.
Mr. Rebello says as some students continue to be in-person at school daily, there has not been any widespread concern over potential COVID infections.
