Schools continue to make plans for the return to full-time in-person learning. At Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, they began their phased-in re-opening this week, returning all students to full, in-person learning in all vocational shops while freshmen are being allowed back on a staggered basis for their academic learning.
Assistant Superintendent/Principal Andrew Rebello says the school has set a goal to have all students back in-person on May 17…and the early reaction of those back in school has been positive.
Mr. Rebello says regardless of how many students are back in school, safety remains a priority, especially in the vocational shops.
The administration at Diman felt it was important to introduce freshmen to the campus as soon as possible, getting them acclimated to high school life.
Mr. Rebello says nearly 80% of families surveyed are in favor of their children returning in-person. Those who remain remote are being taught through the school’s synchronous learning curriculum.
