Fall River’s Director of Community Maintenance (DCM) John Perry has been placed on two weeks paid leave while the city conducts an investigation.
Perry has worked for the city for over 20 years and was installed as DCM Director in 2018. Mayor Paul Coogan says he is unable to comment on the matter.
Mayor Coogan believes the investigation can be completed in two weeks and is part of the city’s process of handling serious complaints against employees.
The mayor says regardless of the investigation into Perry, he has had plans to reorganize staff and roles within the city’s facilities departments.
The Herald News reports that a source they have spoken to claims the incident under investigation “may involve a possible accident at the DCM barn on Lewiston Street that was not reported and inaccurate paperwork associated with a snowstorm this past winter”.
