The Fall River City Council this week rejected a slate of candidates to review the city’s charter.
The current charter was approved by voters five years ago and is slated for its first review over the coming year. City Councilor Michelle Dionne recommended the slate of nine members be rejected because of its makeup and missing a May first deadline for when it was scheduled to be formed
Mayor Paul Coogan, who nominated five members to the commission, says he is disappointed in the council’s vote and hopes a review can move forward.
