The City of Fall River last night took the wraps off its new logo.
Last fall the city launched a contest to create a new logo. Over 200 entries were submitted from around the world. A panel of judges narrowed the entries to six which were presented to city residents to select their favorite. Over 6,000 votes were received. The winner, which combined elements of the city’s textile history with the Braga Bridge, was created by Tiverton resident Nadine Messier.
Ms. Messier has been a graphic designer for over 20 years. Part of the inspiration for her submission came from her great-grandmother who worked in the city’s mills during the early 20th century.
The new logo will be a key element of city branding moving forward, including on the city’s new-to-be-updated website and material to drive economic development.
Ms. Messier received a $500 cash prize for creating the winning submission.
