Fall River Mayor Paul Coogan today rededicated two parks in the city’s Flint neighborhood that were renovated using state and Community Development Agency (CDA) funds.
The Edmund and Lillian Desmarais Playground off County Street and the Massasoit Cathy Assad Tot Lot on the corner of Quequechan and Wamsutta Streets each sport new playground equipment and surface renovations.
At the Assad Tot Lot rededication, Mayor Coogan recounted the countless contributions Ms. Assad made to the Flint neighborhood.
Ms. Assad’s daughter Natalie says her mother, who passed away nearly five years ago, would have been proud of the improvements made at the park.
