The City of Fall River has received a state grant totaling $229,256 that will improve and expand access to city bikes and walking paths.

Sarah Labossierre, co-ordinator of Mass in Motion-Fall River, says the money will be used to create bike lanes along portions of Water Street, Milliken Boulevard, and Rodman Street. The project will also make improvements to pedestrian crossings on Pleasant Street at 8th Street, Pleasant Street at Quequechan Street, and South Main Street at Anawan Street.

Ms. Labossierre says the project will be completed by late spring and provide enhanced economic development and recreational benefits to the community.
