The City of Fall River yesterday presented a check for $100,000 to the Veterans Association of Bristol County to support their work in finding jobs for veterans impacted by COVID-19.
The funds, which were allocated from both Federal CARES Act money and money from the city’s Veterans Department, will go toward the Launch Pad Veterans Job Training Program. With veteran unemployment on the rise, Mayor Paul Coogan says this infusion of funds will help vets get back on their feet.
Veterans of Association of Bristol County Board Member Jay Clarkin says the money will come in handy as the organization continues to meet the growing social service needs of veterans.
