Fall River still lags behind the rest of the state in terms of the number of residents who are vaccinated. The gap is a bit larger for those ages 12-15. In response, the city is holding a series of vaccination clinics at city schools over the few weeks.
Tess Curran, the city’s Director of Health and Human Services says the clinics are open to all with the goal to make it easier for families to get their children eligible to get the vaccine to do so.
Parents can expect to see communications on the clinics from the schools in the coming days.
Even though the school vaccination clinics are open to all, pre-registration through the city’s web page frvax.com is recommended.
Those receiving a vaccine at the schools will be eligible for free giveaways. Relatedly the City of Fall River is looking to reward youth between 12 and 24 who have received at least one dose of the vaccine to take part in a drawing for prizes through the month of October.
