The sport of pickleball is all the rage and Fall River has its own dedicated courts now open at Lower Kennedy Park.
A $400,000 allocation from the city’s Community Development Agency was made available for the creation of four dedicated courts with the option of setting up four additional temporary courts where tennis courts are currently located.
The project was guided by James Crosson, a local organizer of pickleball clinics and leagues. He says the growth of the sport has extended across the country, including here in the Southcoast.
Mr. Crosson says the sport welcomes players of all abilities, with opportunities to play in a structured or non-structured environment.
The city will be opening up additional pickleball courts soon at Britland Park.
