The City of Fall River last week dedicated a refurbished park in the South End after the former longtime director of the city’s Community Development Agency (CDA) Paul Poulos.
Mr. Poulus created the CDA and served as its director for close to 25 years. Current CDA director Michael Dion cited some of the landmark community projects Mr. Poulos played a role in creating through the federal Community Development Block Grant Program at the Office of Housing and Urban Development.
Mr. Poulos’ son Michael called the park a fitting tribute to his father, who prided himself on projects that benefited all city residents.
The renovated park near Maple Gardens includes a basketball court, two playgrounds, new signage and handicapped-accessible picnic tables.
