The Fall River War Veterans Council last Friday held a ceremony in commemoration of National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
The event was to remember the over 80,000 U.S. soldiers who remain unaccounted for in all wars. Fall River War Veterans Council Senior Vice Commander Bill Desmarais read remarks on behalf of Commander Robert Guinan.
The keynote address was delivered by Richard Fitts, Jr. who lost his father, Sgt. Richard Fitts during the Vietnam War when he was only two years old. He never knew his father who remained missing for over 20 years.
