The weather is getting cooler and those who may need help paying their heating bills this winter can apply now for assistance through Citizens for Citizens.
Executive Director Elizabeth Berube says the program begins November first and, based on the guidelines, there may be many more city residents eligible for aid.
Those in the program last year should have received an application in the mail to re-apply. Berube says applicants will now be able to file online at cfcinc.org.
Berube says there are no caps on the number of households the program can accommodate. In addition, those receiving heating assistance during COVID may also be eligible for aid to assist in paying other energy bills that lapsed due to the pandemic.
