When 48 Venezuelan migrants were flown to Martha’s Vineyard two weeks ago, Catholic Social Services in Fall River was one of the partner organizations to provide humanitarian support.
Executive Director Susan Mazzarella says once she received word of the arrival, she immediately contacted Diocese of Fall River Bishop Edgar Da Cunha and recruited staff to meet with migrants after they were transported to Joint Base Cape Cod.
Ms. Mazzarella says Catholic Social Services remains available to meet the specific needs of the migrants.
Ms. Mazzarella says the organization has a long tradition of helping immigrants transition to their new country.
Catholic Social Services is accepting donations in support of the Venezuelan migrants and anyone within their service area in need of basic support. You can find out more at their website https://www.cssdioc.org/.
