Republican nominee for Secretary of State Rayla Campbell is not shy about her plans to share her conservative values if elected. As the state’s chief elections officer, Ms. Campbell is looking to repeal the VOTES Act passed by the legislature that allows for mail ballots and early voting during state elections, by pointing to irregularities she feels existed during the 2020 election.
Ms. Campbell echoes the complaints of many Republicans in criticizing the media for unfairly stereotyping conservatives running for office.
On other issues, Ms. Campbell feels the role of the secretary of state should be to make it easier for residents to start a small business.
Ms. Campbell says she would like communities to be more forthcoming in their release of public information, especially when it comes to parents seeking answers about their children’s education.
