Classes will begin Monday at the Atlantis Charter School in the city’s south end.
Executive Director Robert Beatty says the new facility housing the 1,300 K-12 students quickly became obsolete when COVID struck, forcing high school students to be relocated. He says the answer is the construction of an additional 20,000 square feet of classroom space.
Beatty says while the new space is being constructed the school will take remediation efforts and using outdoor space during the mild early-fall months. When students return, they will be faced with expanded academic offerings.
As with our other schools, Atlantis is looking forward to welcoming all students back to in-person learning.
