It was quite the start to the congressional career of Massachusetts 4th district representative Jake Auchincloss as insurrectionists stormed the U.S. Capitol yesterday and delayed the certification of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as the next president and vice president of the United States.
Congressman Auchincloss used social media to keep his constituents abreast of the situation at the Capitol. Shortly after 5:30 pm yesterday, he gave this update on the safety of himself and his staff.
When Congress returned to continue the certification of the electoral vote, the Congressman came back to assure residents that their work would not be hindered.
