The United Way of Greater Fall River is allocating $75,000 among 20 community organizations that make a positive impact by helping those in need put food on their table.
Executive Director Kim Smith says the food grants issued to partners within the seven communities within the organization’s service area demonstrate the need that still exists in combatting food insecurity.
The Greater Fall River Community Food Pantry is one of the recipients of a United Way grant. Director David Perry says the money will pay for healthy food choices for pantry clients.
Since the end of the pandemic and the rise in the costs of groceries, Mr. Perry says the demand for the food pantry continues to grow.
