The United Way of Greater Fall River is contributing $25,000 in support of training prospective teachers to educate students in the city.
The money is in support of Teach for America, which recruits diverse college graduates to teach for two years in low-income school districts.
Kim Smith, Executive Director of the United Way of Greater Fall River, says this is the 11th consecutive year the United Way has contributed to the work of Teach for America in Fall River.
Henry Lord Community School teachers Emma Dunlop and Adrienne Long say their experience with Teach for America has prepared them to become better teachers.
