In March of 2018, the unemployment rate fell in Fall River.

According to the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, the unemployment rate was 7.8% in March, down from 8.2% in February. The figures were released Tuesday, and show that Fall River also had the highest unemployment rate of any major city in the commonwealth. The workforce in Fall River stood at 41,083 in March with 37,878 people employed and 3,205 unemployed.

In addition, the unemployment rate for Massachusetts in March was calculated at 3.8%, down from 4% in February. A year ago at this time, the state average was 3.7%.
