The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth has received a $4.3 million dollar grant from the Office of Naval Research to expand its research capabilities within its Marine and UnderSea Technology research program.
This is the third grant in two years received by the university to partner with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport to fund nine projects related to the blue economy and offshore wind sectors. In announcing the grant award, Massachusetts 9th District Congressman Bill Keating said the work being done by the university is advancing research and technology improvements that will aid in better understanding our marine ecosystem and provide tools and strategies to support the country’s national security.
