Mayor Jasiel Correia II has announced that residents and landlords have been alerted via mail about his administration’s new initiative to have them comply with the Pay-As-You-Throw trash removal program.
Neither former Mayors Sam Sutter or Will Flannigan enforced fines for those in non-compliance since the program rolled out nearly two years ago. Mayor Correia announced a couple of weeks ago he wanted to change that because the city lost about a million dollars in revenue as a result of not fining landlords and residents who are not buying the purple bags for trash removal.
The new initiative to start fining those not in compliance will begin May 9th. For more information visit the Municipal Website.
